Legion of Young Polish Women is Seeking Outstanding Young Ladies to be Presented at Our 76th White & Red Ball

lypwsmThe Legion of Young Polish Women is seeking outstanding young ladies to be presented at our 76th White & Red Ball. This year, in honor of celebrating the 70th Presentation of the Debutantes, we will be giving scholarships to an accredited school for the Queen ($1,000), 1st Place ($500) and 2nd Place ($250) winners.

Our Debutantes learn ballroom dancing, social decorum, fundraising techniques, charity, grace, poise and are able to interact with all kinds of people in many situations. They develop characteristics young women need to be successful in their future careers and life, as well as achieve an awareness of giving back to the community with the opportunity to receive up to 40 hours of community service. Our Debutantes do all of this while making lifelong friendships and treasured memories!

Please consider becoming a Debutante and being presented, in our beautiful, elegant and historic 70th Anniversary Presentation White & Red Ball to be held at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago on March 7, 2015.

We welcome all interested Debutantes to our next Debutante Tea on October 26th, 2014 at the Dar Serca Foundation, at noon, 3860 N. 25th Avenue, Schiller Park, IL 60176

About the Legion of Young Polish Women

Created in 1939, Legion is a non-profit organization that strives to promote polish culture and traditions around the world. The Legion supports Polish and American cultural and educational projects including many worthy causes such as Women in Leadership Archives at Loyola University and Paderewski Symphony Orchestra.

Debutante Ball

The Legion helps ensure that Polish culture, heritage and traditions remain an integral part of our ethnically diverse country. The first White and Red Ball to benefit Polish relief was held on February 6, 1940, and an historic dimension was added in 1945 by incorporating the Presentation of the Debutantes – the first “en masse” presentation ever held in the United States.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Mary Sendra Anselmo, President of the Legion of Young Polish Women
Lori Hilson Cioromski, Ball Chair
Cherilyn Smoron Denisiuk, Debutante Chair
