Victims Domestic Violence Program For Victims and Their Children PAA's Domestic Violence program offers assistance to Polish-speaking immigrant women who are victims of domestic violence and otherwise would not be able to receive services elsewhere due to a language barrier. We offer: - individual and group counseling for victims of domestic violence, - art therapy for children who have witnessed domestic violence, - assistance in filing police reports, - assistance in obtaining civil/criminal Order of Protection, - referral and interpretation during divorce cases, - assistance with Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self- sponsorship immigration cases, - assistance in locating available shelter. Through counseling victims learn how to identify the cycles of abuse in their own relationships. They learn how to make a safety plan for themselves and their children. They learn what their legal rights and remedies are in securing their safety in the future. Most importantly they learn that they are not alone and that they do have choices other than suffering at the hands of an abusive partner.
