Bogna Iwanowska-Solak

Bogna Iwanowska-Solak owns Oak Mill Bakery with her husband Walter. Oak Mill Bakery caters sweet tables, wedding and birthday cakes, and pastries and cakes for all occasions for some of the finest hotels, restaurants and private events in the Chicago area. Bogna’s true love and talent for pastries quickly made the bakery a real success. Today, they have seven Oak Mill Bakery locations. Bogna Iwanowska‐Solak was the 2002 recipient of the Polish American Association’s Presidential Award. She serves as a member of the Polish American Association’s Board of Directors and the organization’s Advancement Committee and Events Subcommittee. With Bogna’s leadership, PAA initiated the successful fundraising effort “Paczki Days for the Poor”—she also organized “Vienna Café,” a benefit concerts at her garden. She is a very generous supporter of PAA. The sweetness of the delightful pastries produced by the Oak Mill Bakery cannot compare to the sweetness of Bogna Iwanowska‐Solak’s heart. Bogna Iwanowska‐Solak was born and lived in Poznan, Poland. Bogna and her husband Walter are the parents of Alexandra and Matthew and reside in Arlington Heights. Bogna is an avid collector of art and glass, and enjoys gardening, travel, flowers, and the theater.
